CTA and the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC), through its Socio-Environmental Center, are expanding the partnership established under the MUDA Program – Soil and Water Conservation Program with the implementation of an Integrated Hydrometeorological Monitoring System for Castelhano Stream.

This new initiative builds on the work started by CTA under the MUDA Program, which has already included assessment activities, restoration of areas along the stream, and guidance on soil and water conservation for rural properties in the region.

The project now incorporates technology and monitoring to deepen the understanding of the watershed and transform data into information that can support more informed decision- making and solutions tailored to the region.

The platform developed by UNISC will bring together information from different monitoring sites, including data, maps, charts, and indicators. The project also includes the installation of two new automated stations to expand water-level monitoring along the Castelhano Stream.

By bringing together scientific knowledge, technology, and the private sector, the partnership reinforces the importance of working together to develop pathways for preserving natural resources and building a more resilient future.

CTA. Commitment to people, responsibility for the future.
