CTA-Continental Tobaccos Alliance was founded on June 14, 1994. In order to boost competitiveness and expand market presence, CTA took an important step partnering with G.F. Vaughan in 1995 and Hail & Cotton International Group in 2017, joining forces to become a major global tobacco supplier.


The company invested heavily in its facilities, becoming extremely modern and capable of processing approximately 120 million kg of tobacco per crop. CTA is established in an area of 41 hectares of land with 140 thousand square meters constructed area distributed among factory, warehouses, offices, a Kindergarten & Preschool for employees' children fully subsidized by the company, cafeteria, leisure area, a Training Center and an Employee Social Club. It has four branches dedicated exclusively to tobacco procurement in the townships of Araranguá, Ituporanga and Papanduva, in the state of Santa Catarina, and Irati, in the state of Paraná.


CTA has integrated tobacco growers in the three southern Brazilian states.


Roughly 97% of production is exported to more than 50 countries, reaching markets in Europe, the Americas, Africa, Middle East, and the Far East.


The company is ISO 9001/2015 certified and has received the ADVB Export Award for several consecutive years.


CTA works intensely with internal social programs as well as community projects, through policy-defined guidelines, fully centered on Integrity and Sustainability throughout its value chain.
